Life surprises us; surprises give us life

image001Father prepared all the events and over time, he made it known to me, although every time I took the Father’s phone little card, I did not understand: “Loneliness is fruitful.”

Many nights I was wakeful, and I would say interiorly, “Look, I am not prepared; I am weak and small…” Until the day arrived. I was alone when they told me I was losing my sight. Glaucoma had destroyed 90% of the optic nerve. There was no going back. I am grateful to God that I was alone at the moment when the doctor told me. Because I was at peace, and I told him, “Do what you have to do.”

On the way home, I cried a lot, and when I arrived no one was home, and I placed everything in the Home Shrine. From that moment, I accepted everything with resignation. However, as of 1 September, we began a novena to Fr. Kentenich, in preparation for surgery. At Mass, I asked that they intercede for me so that at least, I would have a little window.

At dawn, I got worse, and at the doctor’s office, I told Héctor, my husband: “If I am worse, they will move the surgery up, and I am sure that Father is behind it…”

That how it went! I could not even see the doctor’s face. The doctor who continued with the tests told me: “I will not let you lose your sight. We will perform surgery. “When?” I asked. “Now!” he answered.

Four hours after the surgery…I could see again. Understandably, only 10%. They are my “Father’s little windows!” The remainder is cataracts; they also did laser surgery on the left and right eye.

The rest we take as Father’s gain! Although I could not believe it, or understand it, I regained 80% to 90% of my vision in each eye. I only use glasses to read small print.
