Fr. Juan Pablo Catoggio informed the international Schoenstatt Family in the evening of August 19, 2018, on the appointment of a new rector for the Original Shrine: from early 2019, Fr. Carlos Cox Diaz, from Chile, will replace Fr. Antonio Bracht, from Brazil.

The General Council of the Schoenstatt-Fathers has appointed
Fr. Carlos Cox Díaz
as Rector of the Original Shrine for three year from March 19, 2019. Since mid-July, this news is also known in Chile and since then has spread everywhere.
After 14 years of experience in the Chilean National Shrine of Our Lady of Carmel in Maipú, he will be in Schoenstatt on the 2nd of February to take on his new task.
I would like to thank Fr. Antonio Bracht of the heart for his faithful service to the Original Shrine in the last years. I also express my gratitude to Fr. Carlos and wish him much blessing and fruitfulness.

Carlos, desde hacía tiempo que estaba tratando de juntar un grupo de fieles que gritaran “Carlos obispo” en alguna asamblea religiosa, a ver si sucedía como cuando nombraron a San Ambrosio, y nunca lo logré hacer; mucho menos tener el resultado de lo de Ambrosio. Pero esta rectoría es algo igual de grande. Un abrazo muy apreteado…
