The Bishop of Cartago, Costa Rica, Mario Enrique Quirós spent Christmas in Schoenstatt, Germany. He was very grateful for the welcome, for the time he had to pray, to rest, to learn more about Schoenstatt. He was happy! —
In his diocese there are many Schoenstatt couples’ groups, there are some couples of the Family Federation, groups of the Mothers’ Branch, of the Men’s Branch (five), of the Girls’ Youth, of the Women’s Apostolic League, of the Young Professionals, several communities of Madrugadores, many Pilgrim MTA’s and seven priests of the diocesan clergy who have sealed their Covenant of Love with the Blessed Mother in the Shrine in San José. Bishop Mario Enrique Quirós has given unconditional support to the Schoenstatt Movement in Cartago, thanks to the work, follow up and support of Father José Luis Correa who precisely urged and motivated this trip.

Masses, meetings, time to pray
Bishop Mario Enrique Quirós arrived on December 24 and stayed until December 29, 2023. Fr. Eduardo Aguirre picked him up from the airport and took him to Schoenstatt. There were several meetings with Fr. Alexandre Awi, Superior of the Schoenstatt Fathers, celebration of Holy Mass in the chapel of Mount Sion and in the Original Shrine, where the bishop met with pilgrims from Romania.
A special moment was the visit to the House and Shrine of the Secular Institute of Schoenstatt Diocesan Priests. Dr. Christian Löhr, Rector General of the Institute, invited him to celebrate Mass in front of the altar of the Dachau Concentration Camp.
