Pope Francis: prayer and solidarity

“We have followed during the night, with the greatest concern, the terrible news which has come from Nice,” said the Director of the Holy See Press Office, Father Federico Lombardi, SJ.

“We want to make known, on the part of Pope Francis and ourselves, our sharing and solidarity in the suffering of the victims and all the French people, in what was supposed to be a great day of celebration,” –Father Lombardi continued – “We condemn in an absolute manner every manifestation of homicidal folly, hatred, terrorism, and attacks against peace.”

A jar of solidarity in the Shrine

This Friday afternoon, Fr. Daniel Lozano has placed a “jar of solidarity” in the international Schoenstatt Shrine in Belmonte, Rome, where each one virtually can place the prayers, petitions, offers for the victims of Nice. After the Covenant Mass on July 18, the joint capital of grace will be offered for France and for all the victims of war and terror.

Let us also join in prazer for all those who lost their lives this night in Turkey.

The Covenant of Love is stronger.
