ARGENTINA, Gabriela Sarquis •
This week Advent began and so did Advent at the Casa del Niño. We began this season that the Church proposes to us to prepare us for the great feast of the birth of Jesus, made a child, out of love for all of us. And his love has neither beginning nor end, it is forever. —
That is why the children of Casa del Niño started the week by putting together a big Christmas tree, donated by Patricia, who together with the children prepared and decorated it with great joy and dedication, crowning it with a big star.
Angels, trees, cookies and Christmas carols…
One group of children made little angels by folding magazine pages and putting Styrofoam heads on them; another group cut out cardboard trees and decorated them, while other children made delicious Christmas cookies in different shapes. All in a festive atmosphere while listening to Christmas carols and songs in the background.
Preparing their hearts to receive Baby Jesus
The children also know that they not only have to decorate and prepare the House but also their hearts to receive the Baby Jesus this Christmas Eve.
We want the children to spread this spirit of Advent and Christmas lived at Casa del Niño to their families so that we all become one big family that learns to walk towards Jesus, following the star of Bethlehem. Because Christmas comes for everyone, Jesus is born for everyone.
May all families have their Christmas dinner
Can you help us so that all the families of Casa del Niño have a nice Christmas dinner?
This is the call for this month of December: we want to put together 160 boxes that will have everything necessary for a special dinner for each family of the children of Casa del Niño. The value of each box is $ 8000 Argentine pesos (about 45 USD or 43 Euros) and every contribution adds up, even if it is small, to make a family in need happy.
