The Social Web That Prays to Change the World

fma. It is a special feeling to suddenly encounter a dream made into reality by us. Made into reality in a way never imagined by professionalism, efficiency and facility of use, and at the same time, fair according to the dreamt of spirit and aim… This is what happens upon encountering the social web, mayfeelings.com, “the social web that prays to change the world,” where it takes place “technically” or better, in the confines of the Internet and open to all – “the idea of the Covenant in Solidarity,” as Father José María commented.

The Covenant in Solidarity, as the soul of the Covenant culture that Schoenstatt wants to give to the world, has enlivened the hearts of many and has generated very concrete Covenants in solidarity since the idea emerged toward the end of February in 2012.

“I am ‘now’ becoming aware of the great potential of “renewable” life, which exists in our international Family when it has to offer and surrender sacrifices in solidarity – be they for reasons of health or situations of limitation and contingency…” then wrote Fr. José María, motivated by the wave of prayer that was awakened by the news of his illness. From this a simple but brilliant initiative emerged; the spirit of the founding time and also 2014 was the motivating factor.

Covenant in solidarity – offering in Covenant, a Covenant among those in charge of the preparation tasks for the Jubilee and those in charge of the offering– so concrete and so personal as is the Covenant itself. The Covenant, in this case, becomes fraternal and at the service of the mission and the projects in which the mission becomes concrete. “I am very greatly impressed and think that, since Blessed Mother opened the door with my situation, we could go forward and open a good space in both schoenstatt.org and in Schoenstatt2014.org in the direction of spiritual “solidarity support” and in the Treasury of Grace…in the pain or the offered illness for those who are “lacking means and audacity” in their labor for 2014.

It is the deepest and most radical form that is from the roots, to build a Covenant culture, and that I know I am a member of this commission for offering in Covenant… For each limitation of means – human, material, attitudes, response to the efforts, time, [and] strength – we have people who are “responsible” with their offerings in Covenant for them… I imagine a personal and real Covenant among the leaders of the organization, the program, the tents, communication, projects and those who assume the offering…”

We want to pray for you

The spirit of this Covenant in solidarity was still searching for a form of expression… and while some collaborators of schoenstatt.org were thinking about “something like a Facebook page of solidarity,” what they desired appeared- mayfeelings.com – a simply fantastic project in which some young Schoenstatters are involved. It is as simple as it is brilliant: mayfeelings.com – we want to pray for you. A social web that wants to change the world through prayer – and using Facebook and other websites – with “Likes”- with “followers” and “friends” with “walls” and more – to pray for one another…

Many for one and one for many…

May Feelings is a service that connects people from allover the world through an exchange of petitions, commentaries and messages. People write brief petitions on their profiles called “Prayers” with 259 characters or less. These “Prayers” are shared on the profiles of the people, they are sent to the followers, and they can be searched for in the tool-search for May Feelings.

The “soul” of this social website is the button “pray,” prayer, which means a commitment: “Each time you press the “Pray” button for someone on May Feelings, you are wholeheartedly committing to that person. Each Pray counts. Each Pray is a “Yes,” a commitment, with that person, a sincere gesture to pray.”

May feelings: schoenstatt.org says, “Like.”

There is nothing else: “Like,” says schoenstatt.org. It is a fantastic project, a project that breathes the spirit of the Covenant, of solidarity and faith that moves mountains in the forms and expressions of the world today.

With great conviction, it was chosen as “webpage of the month” on behalf of schoenstatt.org and is spread…

The Covenant in Solidarity, like the Covenant culture, is not only for Schoenstatt. If “May feelings” gives us, possibly, the form to express the Covenant in solidarity, if it can be used for what we desire in its concrete form exactly in this Covenant culture, it could be contributed to www.mayfeelings.com and to those on this social web who ask for and offer prayers… the “specialty” of Schoenstatt, the Capital of Grace… When a Schoenstatter presses the “Pray” button, spiritually he presses the “earthenware vessel” button, offers something concrete, and thus moves all the potential of the Capital of Grace…
