SPAIN, Jesús Manuel Cedeira Costales. Throughout this year, the Schoenstatt Family from Asturias has been preparing to crown Mary as “Queen of Education of the new man and the family.” In the celebrations of the various liturgical seasons and in the triduums that accompany the image of the Pilgrim Virgin, this coronation current has been deepened and meditated upon.
Previously, the Family experienced an extraordinary event with the Pilgrim Virgin for Europe in February of 2009. On her pilgrimage, she brought many graces and blessings. And this image will conclude her pilgrimage with her coronation as “Queen of the New Evangelization of Europe” in Schoenstatt (Germany) on September 8, 2012.
The New Evangelization of Europe is entrusted to Her
The moment has arrived here to also offer a crown to the Blessed Virgin as a sign of unity with this European coronation current. With the crown, each Schoenstatter offers all his limitations and weaknesses as children, and says to Mary that he believes in her power as Queen. And in this faith, the New Evangelization of Asturias is entrusted to her, and concretely, the education of the new man and the family. The solemn celebration took place this past Friday, May 18th, at 6 P.M. in the parish of Blessed John XXIII of Viesques – Gijón. The Archbishop of Oviedo, the Most Rev. Jesús Sanz Montes, presided at the Holy Mass.
This act of surrender took place united with many people, who for different reasons were not able to be present physically, but were present in spirit with their hearts. Likewise, it has been a preparation for the act that will take place this year at the place of origin in Schoenstatt (Germany) when the MTA will be petitioned to manifest herself as “QUEEN OF THE NEW EVANGELIZATION FOR EUROPE.”
Soul of Europe
This is the response of the Asturias Family to the Blessed Virgin’s call. This convocation has been made through John Paul II, who made the invitation to construct the Europe of Spirit and has confirmed it with the creation – on behalf of the Holy Father Benedict XVI – the Dicastery(or Congregation) for the New Evangelization and the convocation of the synod of Bishops in October of this year. Their topic will be “the new evangelization for the transmission of the Christian faith.”
From this act, abundant graces are desired and hoped for, for the Asturias Family and for so many persons who need them.
