We went on pilgrimage through Covenant House…

Melanie and Ulrich Grauert. During the lunch break of the leaders’ workshop for the “Covenant Culture Tents,” we went with Father Andrew on a pilgrimage through Covenant House. Going through the house were steps on the pilgrimage road toward 2014 – this is what Father Andrew said – when in 2014, we will be at home.

 

 

When one enters the Circle of King Arthur room – the room where Father Kentenich sat at a table with his closest collaborators observing and cultivating the currents of life – one feels a very special sensation! Aren’t we, each one in his/her own field, Father Joseph Kentenich’s Circle of King Arthur for 2014, as the closest collaborators?

Followed by Father Kentenich’s lectern and the eight beautiful multi-level terraces, where when one is in the large conference hall, one can enjoy a cappuccino at a little table during the five minutes breaks, where small groups of people, who are on fire about the same subject, are spontaneously formed…

Then there is the beautiful view of the Original Shrine from Father Kentenich’s room, and a moment of reflection in front of the kitchen door, through which he departed for the jail in Koblenz. Our children are in awe when we tell them at home that Father preferred to voluntarily go on foot to Koblenz instead of being dragged by the Gestapo.

And then, there is the area in the east wing where the 2014offices are located; there is a fantastic kitchen with a cafeteria at the entrance, which will offer the visitors a cappuccino, ONLY to “elicit” the latest news of Schoenstatt’s worldwide life (and to also tell them about it…)…and…
