Secular Institute of Our Lady of Schoenstatt

“Our place is on the streets … We walk in the midst [of life]”, is how Fr Joseph Kentenich, the founder, expressed what he wanted with the Secular Institute of Our Lady of Schoenstatt: A life consecrated to God according to the Evangelical Councils – in the midst of a globalised and extensively secularised society. The members remain in their occupations. There they commit themselves to co-operate, in the strength of their consecration to God, to set a Christian stamp on the world around them. Like Mary they want to help Christ in his work of redemption today. They make their daily lives the content of their prayer, and attempt to permeate the world with Christ’s Spirit and attach it to God. The spiritual life and commitment to the apostolate depend on and complement each other. (http://www.saekularinstitute.de/saekularinstitute/frauen-von-schoenstatt)

Many thanks for your lovely website …
    I just had a general inquiry ( I’m a consecrated woman in a
S.i …the Leaven in the UK ..and I’m asking for a friend ). She was interested in the Leaven but feels she is called to a different path perhaps within our type of consecration , and she is particularly pulled to devotion to Mary , particularly even making a fourth vow. However there is nothing that seems to exist for that … She is also pulled to the traditional Mass but this creates a question as to whether this is actually conflicting to the life of the Leaven as lived now in the world or in the parishes … some of which are very modern it seems. I would be so very grateful indeed if you could answer ( when you can ). I had never heard of you until today …
