Jesus and Mary: the heart of Europe

mev. On Sunday, the 9th, the sending forth Holy Mass for the European Pilgrimage of the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign was celebrated.  Many gathered once again in the early morning at the Pilgrims’ Church.  The newly crowned Queen waited for them beside the altar, and several people took the opportunity to approach and take a photo, to greet Her, or to kneel to pray.

Father Ludovico Tedeschi, from Italy, was the main celebrant.  During his homily, he asked the participants “Who is Europe?”  And their response was “I am Europe…we are Europe!” and he invited everyone to reflect on the importance of reconquering hearts for the European continent and to do it without fear:  Jesus and Mary are the heart of the Church and we should find unity in diversity,” he said.

Walking together toward 2014

At the threshold of the third year of the triennium to 2014, the Year of the Missionary current, the Pilgrim MTA appears in a special way as one of the symbols of the Schoenstatt mission and in Europe  as the image of the New Evangelization.

Father Ludovico said, “On our pilgrimage toward 2014, we want to recognize Mary as the Queen and the heart of Europe.”

Every country received a lit candle as a symbol of going forth along with the invitation:  “The Church needs us; we go without fear and with courage to the parishes, to the priests.  We want to be sent forth by the Queen to serve the Church and to give Europe its heart.”
