ARGENTINA, Nazareth Rodríguez de Bella •
The Virgin of Lujan, patroness of Argentina, came to visit the Casa del Niño “Maria de Nazareth” in Villa Ballester, in the context of a mission in Barrio 9 de Julio, from July 7 to July 17. —
Together with Fr. Adolfo Bernassi, four missionaries: Pedro, Juan, José, and Norberto, came to go on mission in the neighborhood and take the Blessed Mother from house to house. They gave everyone medallions of the Virgin of Lujan and told the story of how she wanted to stay there. They also told us countless times about the “Negrito Manuel”, who had an immense love for the Virgin.
The missionaries visited the Casa del Niño, placed the Virgin of Lujan at the wayside shrine of the House, and the missionaries told the children about “Negrito Manuel”, who guarded the image of the Virgin of Lujan for 40 years. He always said: “I belong to the Virgin”.
Mass in the chapel of the Casa del Niño
The children and collaborators of the Casa del Niño “María de Nazareth” prepared for the mission in many ways, among others, by cleaning the chapel and placing a cord for the bell.
On Thursday, July 14, Father Adolfo celebrated Mass with the children of the House in our chapel. It was a beautiful moment. The children of the Casa participated with great joy and attention.
This chapel is located inside the Casa del Niño, but it has a door that opens directly to the neighborhood and with this mission, it really opened. It is very important to open the chapel to the neighborhood. It is already programmed that once a week the Rosary will be prayed. It is the express wish of the bishop that the chapel has life and is open.
Thanks to the mission in the neighborhood, our chapel “Virgen de Itatí”, patroness of Barrio 9 de Julio, opened its doors to the neighborhood again. She wants to receive her children in her home, and she let us know it very clearly. Mary is a mother and wants her children to come to her house.
A fruitful week
Sunday, July 17, was the closing Mass of the mission. The Bishop of our Diocese of San Martin, Martin Fassi, came to celebrate Mass in the neighborhood.
It was truly a beautiful week. It was a week where the presence of the Blessed Mother was very present.
