Toward 2014 in Covenant with Slovakia

María Elena Vilches. On Saturday, April 14th, the first Mass “Toward 2014” was celebrated in this new phase in the life of the Original Shrine and the entire Schoenstatt Family. Father Carlos Cox, who celebrated the Eucharist -began his introduction with the Hymn of Thanksgiving from Heavenwards. “This prayer written by our Founder in the prison at Koblenz can be the source of meditation during this time of Easter. Today we pray it in this shrine after receiving the responsibility for it as of April 1st, but we also pray it in gratitude for Slovakia.”

Slovakia is a country that suffered greatly under the communist regime, but it has always maintained its strength in Christ, and the MTA has been present there for a long time. Some years ago, there was a new awakening of the Movement there. A Schoenstatt lady has collaborated with the expansion thanks to the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign, and she has also contributed with the translation of literature.

For all the missionaries who are on pilgrimage toward the great jubilee of 2014

Father Andrew Pastore con-celebrated the Holy Mass. The introduction and the renewal of the Covenant of Love at the end of the celebration were made in three languages: German, Spanish and English. Thanks to the transmission of schoenstatt-tv.de, many were able to unite spiritually to this celebration from their countries.

The main intention of the Holy Mass was for the Schoenstatt Family in Slovakia, for all the missionaries, who are on pilgrimage toward the great jubilee of 2014, and for the International Family’s preparation on the road to the 100th Anniversary of the Covenant of Love and all the projects in the different apostolic fields.

During the Mass, the Father Symbol’s pilgrimage was especially remembered. During these days, it will be in Paso Mayor, Argentina, and it is also the beginning of John Pozzobon’s Original Pilgrim MTA’s pilgrimage; it will travel throughout Brazil until 2014.

Day by day, week-by-week, the jars of the Shrines are filled

Day by day, week by week, the jars of the Shrines around the world are filled with expressions of “gratitude and of commitment, with regret and desire”; and so is the Original Shrine’s jar; this week there were petitions and expressions of gratitude from Italy, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Ecuador, Paraguay, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, England, Colombia, the United States and Austria.

From every corner of the world, we continue to celebrate the Easter joy and in creating a Covenant Culture.

Re: "Slovakia is a country that suffered greatly under the communist regime," I find it providential that across my desk came the following beautiful depiction of mercy/from trauma of abortion, and mother/child that comes from Slovakia titled "Memorial for Unborn Children". Find it at http://www.4life4family.org. for more information…
