At the Service of Life and Attachment: New Schoenstatt Site schoenstatt.cl

CHILE, Alejandro Reid. In this year of the Shrine current, we are quickly approaching the great event of October 18, 2014 when we will celebrate the jubilee of the Covenant of Love. This celebration calls us to project Schoenstatt into its second century of life. The power the Movement has today obliges us to improve our systems of information and internal communication.

If we look at the signs of the times in the present world, as our Father and Founder asks us to constantly, we find the great development that communication has had. Concepts like the instantaneousness of the media that transmit to us at the present moment what is happening on the other side of the world, and the social networks that allow us to pick up and receive information at the moment they are happening have generalized the propagation of information. Already in the MTA Magazine, Father Kentenich wanted to have “reader editors and editor readers.”

Covenant culture in communication

At the threshold of the first centennial and following the necessary impulse to arrive at the bicentennial, it is fundamental to have a communications system in accord to the present times. Today, a great number of websites exist in the Movement. These are brought forth with great effort, and often, are soon abandoned.

To be up to date, we have launched anew the www.schoenstatt.cl site. This website concentrates on all the information on the Movement in Chile and on the most important news items which arrive from afar… with material that can be downloaded, photos and videos, along with several windows that allow us to know what is happening in the world of Schoenstatt, and with twitter and Facebook as well. Along with this, a series of communicational activities are being prepared to help us be present during this triennium.

In one week, visits to the old website, Schoenstatt.cl have multiplied…

Chile’s local website is connected to the 2014 Communications Project which guides the flow of communication from and toward the central webpage (www.schoenstatt.org).

A website with the 2014 seal

The collaborators of the International website give a hearty welcome to this new website and the schoenstatt.cl team. They are also grateful for the collaboration attitude in covenant solidarity.

The links to various categories of the international website (Knowing Schoenstatt, international news, etc…), to the official 2014 website, and to other websites both in Chile and “others” – among them the mosaic of the MTA – makes this website an expression and an instrument which Conference 2014 desires and anticipates for Schoenstatt in the grace of 2014: a renewed family in the Covenant of Love, in its creative missionary power attached and interconnected internationally.

The attitude of unselfish sharing (“you can take whatever you need from the website and use it, there is no problem…”) makes it a website with the 2014 seal and the covenant solidarity as the soul for covenant culture, “expression of what we are called to be and to give,” as Father José María García commented: “When professionalism is given consciously in service to life, spontaneously one works in covenant and solidarity.”

A true spring of life and information

The schoenstatt.cl website offers – in addition to all that has been mentioned previously – current news from Chile, information on 2014 at the international and national levels, testimonies, Schoenstatt links, the Chilean and Universal Church, and words from Father Kentenich in light of the day’s Gospel.

A registration form was prepared to receive all types of questions and information that can be channeled through the website. We invite you to visit and participate.
