Yesterday, February 24, we experienced a very important milestone for the history of the Schoenstatt Family of Monterrey, one more step in the desire to have another Shrine from where our Mother will shower abundant graces and touch many hearts. —
In a very touching Mass, the foundations of the Shrine that is being built in the midst of this large and industrial city were blessed. That winter afternoon the sun shone in all its splendor, the wind blew softly and the warmth welcomed us gently.
Just on January 23, 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, in the midst of the pain and fear that this entailed, the news of a new Shrine was announced on the grounds where the Movement House and the Fathers’ House are located, near hospitals, schools and housing areas.

We are foundations
Many people from all the branches, apostolates; and some of those who brought Schoenstatt to Monterrey more than 25 years ago gathered. We took our hearts and the stones that we had collected some time ago from the Shrine of Mary Way to Heaven (the other Shrine that we have on top of a hill) to place them in our Home Shrines. In this way we united both places making contributions to the Capital of Grace and now these stones will form part of the foundation on which this place of grace will be built. In this way, we all became aware that it is through our prayer, apostolate and willingness to transform ourselves and serve the Church, that we are those feet and hands that the Blessed Mother needs to build the Kingdom of God on earth, that “Nothing without You, nothing without us” that forms part of our spirituality.
With the joy of being in family, of being the foundations and founding generation of the Shrine City, a musical festival and fellowship took place afterwards.
