Feast of Corpus Christi in Tupãrenda

PARAGUAY, by Mariela Beatriz Vignola, of the Shrine of Tupãrenda communication team •

The Solemnity of Corpus Christi was joyfully experienced in the National Schoenstatt Shrine in Tupãrenda. Rector of the Shrine, Father Antonio Cosp, celebrated Holy Mass and wisely reflected about the importance of the Body and Blood of Christ.

The Schoenstatt Family and pilgrims participated; they, who day by day join to experience the graces of the Shrine, where God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit along with the Blessed Mother wait for the pilgrims every Sunday at the Santa María de la Trinidad [Holy Mary of the Trinity] Church to participate in the Eucharist, perhaps also at some extra Sunday Holy Mass.

Baptism and the daily nourishment

DSC07896Father Antonio Cosp relates:

“The Feast of Corpus Christi in Tupãrenda is experienced with much joy and veneration. I was the celebrant, and I tried to show two great moments of Christian life: Baptism that submerges us in Christ and gives us his Spirit, and the daily nourishment with spiritual communion and the Sunday Mass.

Our pastoral promotes the bread of the Word as daily nourishment, so that life will be permeated by Jesus’ holiness.

The pilgrims especially enjoy the flower carpets, and they attentively contemplate the passing of the Blessed Sacrament in the final pilgrimage toward the Shrine, where it will be adored for the rest of the morning.

This time there were two stations, where the message, adoration and praise were taken in again on the Sunday walk toward the Shrine. The feeling is that if entering Tupãrenda always fills us with the peace of wonderful nature, to arrive at the church and the Shrine fills the heart with that peace that reigns in this place of grace.

Father Antonio suggested that we reflect on the following as a resolution:

What does the Mass mean to me?

How do I come?

Do I arrive in time or do I sometimes complain?

Do I prepare before, do I read the Gospel of the day?

Do I say a prayer?

Do I pray a mystery of the Rosary?

Finally, the Holy Mass is an investment for my spiritual life.

Hopefully we will also make the resolution to pray the prayer of spiritual communion daily as well as the consecration to the Blessed Mother to always be closely united to Christ.

Prayer for spiritual communion

My Jesus, who is present in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar,

I love You above all things, and I ardently desire to unite myself to You: I need your forgiveness.

Come spiritually into my heart and fill it with peace and love.

Your presence heals me that is why I receive you and give you my entire life.

Never permit me to be separated from You.

Amen.
