“Hurry lest it be too late”

USA, Sr Marie Day. “Hurry lest it be too late,” now seems to be Father Kentenich’s call to the USA’s Schoenstatt Family as the pilgrimage towards 2014 has begun. Increasingly, many long for Father Joseph Kentenich’s canonization and the process of canonization coming to a closure in the diocese and being transferred to Rome for the second stage. Dreams of receiving this news in the midst of the triennium arise.

A canonization kit

Canonization KitWith this in mind, the United States’ Wisconsin and Illinois’ Schoenstatt communities have chosen “Father give us your light” as their 2011 motto. They have joyously begun their preparation towards 2014 by compiling what is referred to as a canonization kit. As part of their efforts to offer many spiritual gifts during this triennium, Father Kentenich’s process of canonization will be a primary focus during 2011, the international year of the Father Current. The kit, organized by Sr. Marie Day, includes an Impulses for Daily Living booklet, prayer petition, and answer sheets, information about The Father House in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and the 2014 pilgrimage prayer.

Fatherhood

Such efforts have been inspired by the hope of promoting Schoenstatt’s great mission. What better way is there to spread Schoenstatt spirituality if not by working towards its Founder’s process of canonization? In society today, fatherhood is typically marginalized and misrepresented throughout the media. As a consequence, this creates a tainted image of our Heavenly Father, which desperately calls for an intercessor. Father Joseph Kentenich was and still is a true spiritual father to many. It is said that he referred to the end of his life with joy, because from heaven, he would no longer have time and space limitations as he would possess the capability of tending to more of his spiritual children’s needs.

May this prayer of his and ours soon be realized!
