The invitation indicates that the idea to organize such a conference has been in many hearts, and now the hour has come. The date set is Saturday, March 5th, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in New York City at the Schoenstatt Shrine, 337 Cary Ave. Staten Island, NY 10310, and all couples who want to attend are invited; those who have belonged to Schoenstatt for some time as well as newcomers. One of the main reasons for this conference is to unite in spirit, to set concrete goals to follow as couples from the East Coast for the purpose of maximizing the potential of Schoenstatt’s reach and that of its couples in this region.

“Father, give us your light”

Grupo #1 de matrimonios de Washington, DC. Alianza de Amor en Santuario de Nueva York, 31 de mayo 2009.This year’s motto for Schoenstatt in the United States is: “Father, give us your light.” The mission of the New York Shrine is to be a Shrine of light in New York City, a city flooded by electric lights, by taking the light of the Shrine, Father’s light, and the Blessed Mother’s light flooding hearts with the light of God’s love that will fill and transform the entire city and beyond.

For this reason, the theme for the conference will be: Father, give us your light in our family. Key subjects will be discussed for a profound understanding within the couple to overcome crisis, to elevate love, and to empower the couple’s abilities to reach the maximum in their relationship. The conference is open for new couples as well as those who are Schoenstatters. However as it was mentioned above, it will also be a time of great importance in uniting different cities from the eastern provinces of Canada and some of the eastern states from the United States, where there is a presence of Schoenstatt couples, who have expressed interest in participating in places such as: Montreal, Boston, New York and its different counties, Washington DC, Northern Virginia, Southern Maryland, Virginia Beach, New Jersey, Atlanta, and Miami that has eleven active couples’ groups. Father Hector Vega is the adviser in charge of the conference, and Sisters Iraida Guerra and Angela Macan will assist as our advisers.
