The 15 September - the anniversary of Fr Kentenich's death - was an important day for the Schoenstatt Fathers in Nigeria, as well as the Schoenstatt Family in the shadow of the shrine in Ibadan, in this West African country. The Sion del Padre Region of the Schoenstatt Fathers (covering Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Italy) took over responsibility for Nigeria. NIGERIA, Sr. M. Iona Mackenzie. Nine mothers sealed their Covenant of Love as members of the Schoenstatt Mothers’ League, in the Shrine at Ibadan, Nigeria. As the only Schoenstatt Mothers’ group in the country, these 9 mothers can be considered as the founding members of the Schoenstatt Mothers’ League in Nigeria.
