Puerto Rico on pilgrimage towards 2014

Puerto Rico: Arco Iris sobre la bandera del jubileoPUERTO RICO, Sr. M. Isabel. The celebration in Puerto Rico was a powerful proof of the Blessed Mother’s love and faithfulness. Besides the opening of the three-year preparation for 2014, they also celebrated twenty-five years since the beginning of the Rosary Campaign in Puerto Rico.

Este mismo día se celebró el 25° aniversario de la Campaña

The first buses with pilgrims began to arrive at around 9AM. At 10:30 AM, the receiving of the MTA in a float with cars and the motorcycles of the MTA together with the “Madrugadores” was a beautiful surprise.

A Holy Spring Time on the way to 2014

Cerca del SantuarioUpon arriving at the Shrine, the pilgrims were able to offer a spiritual pilgrimage towards 2014. When everyone consecrated his or her self to the MTA, everybody also offered their daily pilgrimages. From the Shrine, the faithful moved on to the Pilgrim Center in a procession led by the Pilgrim Staff from St. James of Compostela and the Unity Cross that was at the Founder’s Chapel in 2007 (for a significant act as part of their prep for 2014). Besides these symbols, light from the Ver Sacrum of the Shrine led the way – since it represents the efforts of the Puerto Rican Schoenstatt Family to become a holy springtime on their way to 2014. Finally, a huge picture of the Pilgrim MTA was carried in the procession. She was THE queen placed, then, upon a most beautiful throne of many small Pilgrim MTAs!

A stream of life and graces

Tu alianza nuestra misiónBishop Herminio DeJesús, a member of the Diocesan Priests’ League, was the main celebrant at Holy Mass. In his message, he invited everyone to reflect on the way in which the MTA had initiated this pilgrimage already twenty-five years ago. Today, many are on their way to enrich all of Puerto Rico from the Shrine if those involved only allow the MTA to reach out to her people through her visits to homes and families.

Close to 1,600 people found shelter at the shadow of the Shrine

The changing weather brought the gorgeous surprise of a brilliant rainbow that framed the flag with the international logo and motto: Your Covenant our Mission.

The motto of the Schoenstatt Family in Puerto Rico for this year focuses much more on the year dedicated to Father and his charism therefore as the celebration came to a close, everyone repeated: Father, light of the Family, we go with you towards 2014! Congratulations!
