During the closing of Conference 2014 – on February 7, 2009 in the Original Shrine – Father Heinrich Walter, President of the General Presidency of Schoenstatt, presented each one of the thirty-three national delegates present with a little piece of the Original Shrine: a slate shingle from the roof, which was remodeled several years ago. In past years, many of these shingles were solemnly installed in some of the Shrines around the world, especially in those that were blessed in the third millennium, as a sign of attachment to the source of origin. There are also some wayside shrines and Home shrines that have had the privilege of receiving one of these shingles…

La teja en el Santuario HogarIn Mexico, this gift, which was received at the Conference 2014, has truly awakened a current of attachment to the Original Shrine. The shingle goes on pilgrimage from one diocese to another, from one Home shrine to another, and it is always welcomed with much affection.

A special glow

“On the 31st of May, we had the great joy of receiving the shingle from the Original Shrine in our Home shrine,” Patricia de Mestas relates. “The name of our Home shrine is Cenacle. The shingle will be in Guadalajara throughout the month. The shingle has a special glow, and we will make many contributions to the capital of grace on the way to 2014…”
