The Synod of video calls with couples and children

SYNOD ON SYNODALITY •

This Synodal Assembly is reflective of the call of Pope Francis for lay men and women to participate for the first time, with active voice and a vote. Their particular charism is essential for a healthy discernment of the will of God and listening to the People, so that, as the Holy Father says, they can turn to him to look at him with mercy. —

It is worth mentioning the personal efforts of men and women who have come to this Assembly from different parts of the world. Many have postponed their jobs, and they have also had the generosity of their families, in many cases their sons and daughters, who have accompanied this option in order to respond to the call made to them by Pope Francis.
It is common to see them during breaks, between sessions or when the sessions are over, connecting with their families, making video calls with their children. Many of them at different times have even thanked their families in publicly. Their presence in the Assembly is significant. It is also important to value the commitment of those who, from their personal vocation as fathers, mothers, and professionals, have left everything for this Church experience. Recognition also goes to those who have accompanied with dedication and generosity so that the lay men and women can be in Rome from October 4 to 29.

Sounds like the role of the Family Work in Schoenstatt …

Synodal Family

As in a family

The Paul VI Hall, converted into a large cenacle, is a place where different family events are celebrated. At the beginning of each day, Cardinal Mario Grech, Secretary General of the Synod, invites participants to give thanks to God for the members of the Assembly who on that day have an anniversary such birthday marriage, episcopal ordination, or feast day.

Prayers are also said for the deceased who are related to the participants. He also announces some of the awards received by some of the participants, such as the Extended Reason Award given to Professor Anna Rowlands. The Pope is also congratulated, for example, on the occasion of his apostolic exhortation letter on the 150th anniversary of the birth of St. Thérèse of Lisieux. These celebratory events are usually accompanied by resounding applause.

Sounds like synodal church, faithful walking together.
