PARAGUAY, dequeni.org.py. The moment has come. The Scholarship Campaign for the 2012 school year has ended, and in the coming weeks, the backpacks with school supplies will be presented. With them, symbolically, hundreds of children will have the opportunity to study and to break the vicious cycle of poverty and lack of an education. Behind every backpack, there is a person who wants to change the world by contributing their grain of sand so that the new world that so many long for will become a reality… Dequení is one of the largest Schoenstatt projects, which is creating a new social order.
The conference, “In sponsoring them, you will be part of their Present and their Past,” was held in the Fernando de la Mora Headquarters, on Saturday, February 25th, at 9:00 a.m. (Ruta Mcal. Estigarribia 1757, Km. 9). The objective of this workshop was to prepare more than 1,500 backpacks with school supplies that will be distributed in the projects of Casa de Acogida Caacupé, Ypané and Augusto Saldívar. The other Foundation projects that will present scholarships will prepare the backpacks along with the volunteers and protagonists of each community.

The more than 150 enthusiastic volunteers are part of the present and the past of the children; contributing to Dequení guarantees that they will register and remain in school.

Life is changed for 3,974 children
The presentation of Scholarships 2012 will begin on February 29th, in Caacupé, and will conclude on March 12th, in Ciudad del Este. This year the campaign will present 3,974 scholarships and school kits (3,646 scholarships and 328 kits), including a backup kit that will be presented in the middle of the year at the nineteen projects and in nine communities.
Dequení supports the education of children because it is considered to be a fundamental strategy to prevent child labor and to break the cycle of poverty in families and communities.
