International Congress of Schoenstatt Communicators – November 2012

ARGENTINA, Enrique Soros. For several years, some Schoenstatt communicators from different parts of the world have thought about the need to unite projects in common to improve the efficiency of communication, and at the same time to take the Schoenstatt message to society in a manner adapted to the technical and social changes. There are many Movement websites on the Internet and other communication projects from different countries all over the world. (see www.SchoenstattLinks.org). In November there will be a congress for “Schoenstatt communicators,” and Schoenstatters who are interested and committed to the subject of communication.

International Congress of Communicators in November 2012

Some communicators from Argentina have suggested that an international meeting of Schoenstatt communicators be held with a look at 2014 and beyond. The idea was widely accepted, and as a result the Circle of Schoenstatt communicators in Argentina decided to volunteer to organize the Congress, which be held Friday thru Sunday, November 9th to 11th, 2012, in New Schoenstatt, Florencio Varela (Buenos Aires), close to the Schoenstatt National Shrine that was blessed by Father Kentenich seventy years ago.

Details about the Congress

The Congress is planned for all professionals in the field of Schoenstatt communications, or for those interested in some project in the media or social network.

The Congress is a private initiative of the Circle of Schoenstatt Communicators in Argentina, and although it has the support of several advisers, it is still a private project at the service of the Movement.

The subjects that will be discussed:

•        Deepening Father Kentenich’s organic vision about communication
•        Reality of communications in the world: media, social network, etc.
•        Strategies for successful communication
•        Communication of the future (to get ahead of communication processes)
•        The use of different media to transmit Father’s pedagogy

The subject matter outlines the objective of the Congress, but it will also:

•        Enhance abilities to the maximum in order that Father Kentenich’s message will reach the world with language that is appropriate for its understanding.
•        Offer a place where the Schoenstatt communicators can become acquainted and so that they may have the opportunity to plan joint projects.
•        Exchange ideas about how the Schoenstatt communicators can create ties in each country and internationally.
•        Exchange ideas about how to create ties with communicators who are not Schoenstatters.
•        Be open to the different suggestions that will emerge from the Congress.

The opinion of Enrique Soros, the organizer of the Conference is: “That to thoroughly understand Father Kentenich’s message, a prophetic spirit is necessary. One of the characteristics of Father’s charism is that he was always attentive to God’s signs and to those of the times. This means that if we want to bearers of his inheritance, we cannot simply repeat concepts (nothing was further from what Father wanted); rather, we should be attentive to the signs of the times and to God’s voice in Schoenstatt and in the world. The technology of communications is advancing at an incredibly rapid pace; for this reason, it is essential for the communicators to be constantly up to date…to the effect that the Schoenstatt message will reach the greatest number of people in an attractive manner.”

Information is available in Spanish, Portuguese, English or German at: www.vox2014.org, where those interested can also pre-register for the Congress. The “Vox 2014” webpage aspires to be a contribution, another voice that will help to take Father’s message to the world on the occasion of the centenary of Schoenstatt’s founding and also afterwards.

Editor’s note: “It is beautiful to see how the preparation for the Jubilee enkindles more and more people and that “2014” appears in almost all the publications and initiatives. But the title of the Congress webpage should not be confused with the jubilee’s official “VOICE”.
The official webpage of Jubilee 2014 is: www.schoenstatt2014.org in collaboration with www.schoenstatt.org. The two websites with their team of committed collaborators through the transmission and solidifying of Message 2014, each one in its specific character, transmit the information as well as the motivations and official announcements as life emerges on the large pilgrimage toward the Jubilee of the Covenant of Love.
