Solidarity reaches each family and each home through the network of Home shrines…

Chilemkf. In the Letter to the Corinthians  Saint Paul said, “If one part suffers, all parts suffer with it.” (1Cor.12:26) During these days after the earthquake in Chile, the solidarity of the Schoenstatt Family is expressed in hundreds of emails, phone calls, prayers, Masses and demonstrations of solidarity from Schoenstatters all over the world. “If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, Saint Paul said in the Letter to the Corinthians”: This is how  Father Heinrich Walter, President of the Schoenstatt General Presidency, begins his message of solidarity to the Schoenstatt Family in Chile , sent on March 2nd. “Solidarity reaches each family and each home through the network of Homeshrines.” This solidarity can be expressed – according to Father Heinrich Walter’s idea – in what is “offered in the jar” and it can be demonstrated in the messages sent to this website.

Father Heinrich Walter writes:

Pater Heinrich Walter If one part suffers, all parts suffer with it, Saint Paul wrote in the Letter to the Corinthians. In this spirit of Family, that is one body, I am writing a greeting of solidarity, of accompaniment, and of consolation in your sorrow on behalf of the world’s many Schoenstatters.

Your country was shaken, its foundations staggered, many things built with effort were destroyed. During the earthquake, all of you experienced an existential anguish that we cannot feel because we were not here. But the pictures seen on the news, and the many experiences described by telephone or via Internet, have shaken us.

You are not alone in this. The spirit of the Schoenstatt Family allows us to share the feelings, it helps us to pray, and it invites us to fill the jar in our Shrines with our contributions. In the abandonment of prison, Father Kentenich spoke of the intermingling of destinies. We express this solidarity when we unite to one Shrine or another. Solidarity reaches each family and each home through the network of Homeshrines. We want to express this solidarity with small contributions.

I would like to add some words of confidence. The Schoenstatt Family of Chile lives the spirit of Pentecost. This spirit is marked by hope, confidence, strength, courage and fortitude. This spirit is characterized by a profound being of one, one in another, through great unity. And Mary, the Mother of the Church and the Queen of the Cenacle, is at the center. This spirit will help you to overcome everything with joy and determination. I desire this Pentecostal spirit for you. I also desire the apostolic and missionary spirit of Pentecost for the Chilean Schoenstatt Family to be close to the Chilean people, the people who suffer, to be a force that urges the reconstruction of a flourishing country.

Closely united with all of you in the Original Shrine, especially with those who are suffering, Fr. Heinrich Walter.

Let us fill the jar

Füllt die Krüge für Chile!Let us fill the jar with what we give all the people who are affected by the earthquake that shook this country.

Por la red de los Santuarios del hogar llega la solidaridad a cada familia y a cada casa.

My heart goes out to you all that are affecting in whichever way by this terrible earthquake. May Our Heavenly Father protect and comfort you in this testing time. United in the Covenant I pray that Our Lady will continue to be the beacon of hope for you all. May you find strength in the knowledge that your pain is shared by many across the world especially here in Cape Town, South Africa where in solidarity we pray for you all.

    God Bless
