UNITED STATES, by Pablo Luis D’Amico, an Argentinean who lives at Seattle, United States •
I learned about Schoenstatt several years ago (when I was dating), when my wife Laura’s mother told us about her conversations with Fr. Esteban Uriburu; she invited us to pray a Rosary at New Schoenstatt, Florencio Varela…
The years passed, we married and Celina (our 15 year daughter) arrived and once again Schoenstatt appeared through the Santa Catalina [St.Catherine] Parish (in the middle of downtown Buenos Aires: Fr. Rafael Braun, the year 2007). Then the invitation to collaborate with the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign in the work places of the macro and micro center…and from then on, the connection with this spirituality did not cease…Then Fr. Gullermo Carmona followed at Confidentia (Riobamba Street), visits to the wayside shrines and to the shrines in the interior, etc. etc…
The day begins with mate and Schoenstatt.org
Since then, every morning from the “home office”, the office at Buenos Aires or visiting the fields for my meetings with farmers; I open schoenstatt.org (always accompanied by mate [herbal tea] as a companion) to start my day and to receive your broad coverage (stories in common, shrines throughout the world to learn and for something special that our beloved Francis is telling us)…in my case, all together it like conversing with the Lord.
At Seattle: with mate and Schoenstatt.org
Now (like the good pilgrim that I am) we have come with my family to explore a new road: to live at Seattle, (USA) for three years. Of course, without missing the healthy custom of the first hour of the day and( Why not…?) to seek new allies and encounters in this different culture so there can be new “schoen” (beautiful) and “statt” (place) in this land.
The mission is already imagined…now may the Lord do the rest!
I would like to connect with Pablo and find out about “schoenstattian” families in Seattle, where I live since 2003.
