Now also as a book and an E-Book: “One Hundred Years Journey, A View of Schoenstatt” by Father Carlos Padilla

SPAIN/CHILE, mda. “Until now, it is really the best I have read on 2014,” commented someone from the schoenstatt.org management team, and “I hope our people know to take advantage of this material which is offered to them for their reflection and in their conferences,” says Carlos Cantú from the Family Federation and a Conference 2014 participant…..like Father Carlos Padilla, Director of the Schoenstatt Movement of Spain, author of the aforemention text who now, to give it further dissemination, comes out on Editorial Nueva Patris Chile as a book and soon in digital format as an E-Book, for Ipad/Iphone, Kindle and other equipment.

““One Hundred Years Journey, A View of Schoenstatt” is a comprehensive reflection which Father Carlos Padilla offered at the beginning of 2014, highlighting the roots in the heart and in the biography of Father Joseph Kentenich. From these, 100 years ago, emerged what today we call Schoenstatt. Also his strengths and weaknesses, or better said, those areas where a jubilee – in the Biblical sense – gives the opportunity and the challenge to view, clean, renew, liberate, forgive, and begin anew.

The text in Spanish was published almost simultaneously in Father Carlos Padilla’s webpage,, in SchoenstattVivo, and in schoenstatt.org, where it is listed on the main menu as “reading for the jubilee year.”

Thanks to Maria de Lourdes Paredes from Lisbon, Portugal, the text is also available in Portuguese; Maria Dolores Congiu from Rome, Italy, like Maria de Lourdes Paredes, a member of the schoenstatt.org “dreamteam,” translated it into Italian and Carlos Cantú translated it into English. The German translation is in progress.

Nueva Patris Chile: Digital publication also in other languages

It was the beginning of a work in Covenant: Upon request from the editorial team of schoenstatt.org for the ISBN of the book – in case someone outside Chile wanted to buy it via a bookstore – was: “The ISBN of the book in Spanish is 978-956-246-7223 – ‘One Hundred Years Journey, A View of Schoenstatt.’ This book can be purchased through our webpage www.patris.cl – and can also be requested from outside the country, we will send it. And it will soon be available in digital format.” Ok. But there was more: “Also, if you are interested in our downloading the book in different languages on our digital format, please let us know how much we would have to pay for the author’s royalties or other costs. This way we could offer the book in different languages…..”

Already there are several books on the history, spirituality or pedagogy of Schoenstatt which Editorial Nueva Patris offers on its flaming portal of digital books. “All that has to do with working together seems very good to me,” comments María Teresa Ramírez Canales, manager of Editorial Patris Chile. “This would greatly benefit our non-Spanish-speaking Schoenstatt public. We have been working for a year on the topic of the digital book and we are commercializing it on various international portals like Amazon, Gahdi, Barner and others. It would be fantastic to have a category of books in other languages.”

They already have more than 80 books in digital format. They can be seen on www.patris.cl, on the screen to the right where there is an icon with a logo which says ‘ buy here’ by ebook and upon seeing each book you can choose where to buy it depending on the country and the electrical equipment. Everything is outlined. The test was running perfectly – and the German testing client, two minutes after entering the correct site indicated on the Patris web, began reading on her kindle “May 31^st. A Mission for our Times” by Father Rafael Fernández. “Our policy has always been unity and Covenant, happy to support all initiatives and for this publishing house to feel as a part of the Schoenstatt Family,” comments María Teresa Ramírez who is preparing everything at this time for the issuing of the translations of the books by Msgr. Peter Wolf on the mission of Belmonte and the footsteps of Father Kentenich in Rome as E-Books.

“If the Covenant of Love germinates culture, Covenant culture, having at its center love in solidarity,” writes Father José María García in his Easter greeting. It is something real. He continues: “It is also beautiful to see that the schoenstatt.org team, and with all of its limitations, lives the Covenant as a school of mercy and solidarity by praying and offering themselves for others, working one for and with others at the service of all, responding with simplicity and trust to the Holy Father’s request to accompany him in the service as our Shepherd, sealing a covenant of solidarity with him; to see how a group of people strive in the Covenant to build 100 solidarity houses for the centenary of our Solidarity House, which is our Original Shrine.” (Fr. Now can be added, in the same attitude and the same spirit: It is beautiful to see how the translators of schoenstatt.org and the management team of Editorial Patris Chile collaborate at the service of all those who seek inspiration in Covenant and who do not have a Schoenstatt Bookstore around the corner.
