The Home Shrine Novena – Ninth Week

USA, Milwaukee Home Shrine Jubilee Commission/Joseph Yank. The Schoenstatt Family in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, the place of Father Kentenich`s exile, is praying a novena for the perpetuation and perfection of the home shrine stream in the Schoenstatt Family and in the Church. They have put together, from Father Kentenich`s words, a nine week novena with meditations from the Home Song, Mass of God’s instruments and words Father Kentenich prayed at various home shrine blessings in Milwaukee. They want to pray this novena two times during the year of the missionary current which coincides with the 50th Jubilee year of Father Kentenich’s proclamation of the home shrine as a third order of shrine for the Schoenstatt Family. Today we publish the final meditation.

Where Christ rules and is triumphant

and leads the whole world to the Father

WEEK NINE – MY HOME SHRINE – YOUR KINGDOM COME

Prayer –

All things shall resound in chorus, “holy God” on high,

All things be consecrated, become holy in being and action,

And with heaven celebrate communion in you,

The Son of God, unveiling God’s splendor.

We reflect on the Child in his Mother’s arms, the Crucifix and the Holy Eucharist

“This child wishes to represent the Child Jesus, the Child Jesus in the crib, the Child Jesus in our picture in the shrine, the Child Jesus as he is given to all of us in Holy Communion. And the Savior – if in the crib or on the cross or on the altar – knows only one great longing. He repeats again and again: ‘See Father, I come to fulfill your will.’”

(Father Joseph Kentenich, excerpt of the spoken word at the dedication of a Living Shrine – 2/24/1963)

Through our Queen who reigns in Schoenstatt

Cast the ancient dragon into hell’s abyss!

Let all things be your kingdom, become like you, the Head,

And joyfully praise the Trinity above. Amen.

Questions for reflection:

Day 1 – What can I do today to become Holy? How can I be more childlike before Father?

Day 2 – What can I do today to make my Home Shrine a reflection of God’s Kingdom here on earth?

Day 3 – Today, can I take a moment to reflect on how I can serve as an example for my family, friends and others to unveil God’s splendor?

Day 4 – In what way can I place myself in the Blessed Mother’s arms to become a little child of God?

Day 5 – How can I strive to fulfill the Father’s Will? How can I mirror Christ’s total surrender to the Father?

Day 6 – What can I do today to help Jesus carry his cross?

Day 7 – Can I strive a little more today not to complain about hardships and to remember instead that now I can be about my Father’s business by doing his wise and Holy Will?
