Christmas with the neediest

SPAIN, Father Jaime Vivancos. For another year, the Schoenstatt pioneers and allies from Madrid organized a Christmas campaign that joined the pilgrims and families around the Shrines of Pozuelo and Serrano, and also the students and families of Colegio Monte Tabor [Mount Tabor School] with the goal of providing a ray of hope in the form of a box of food for Christmas to families and people, who are alone and who go daily to the social dining hall in Mósteles, a suburb of Madrid.

On the December 13th, they distributed 250 boxes during the festive Christmas celebration for children along with 70 Schoenstatt youths; moreover, on the 24th they took 500 baked chickens to the breakfast to help celebrate Christmas Eve.

Instruments of God and the Blessed Mother helping the Christ who suffers today

As a priest, I was impressed how the same youths, who sometimes seem to lack the ideals and initiatives, are capable of everything when it is about concretely helping one’s neighbor, especially when they see that it is truly needed…this was demonstrated when you saw them pushing supermarket carts carrying the boxes of food during a torrential rain for hours and seeing them completely drenched by the rain, but touched to the bone with happiness that only the feeling of being instruments of God and the Blessed Mother can give by helping the Christ who suffers today, or as the Pope says touching Christ’s flesh in the poor and the needy…
