PARAGUAY, José Aníbal Argüello Rojas. In 1999 the Catholic University Missions were born when a group of girls, who belong to the Girls’ Youth of Asunción, traveled to Chile, where they learned about the project, Country Mission. They then returned and applied it to Paraguay. This year they are preparing to carry out its 15th edition during Holy Week between Tuesday, April 15th to Sunday, the 20th, where more than 700 hundred university students from different parts of the country will be on mission in eight communities in the interior of Paraguay.
This year, these youths will respond affirmatively to Pope Francis’ invitation, where he asked the youths to be protagonists in the life of the Church, with the motto “LOYAL TO YOUR WILL, WE GO TO SERVE WITHOUT FEAR.”
The need of the people
The experiences throughout these years have been totally refreshing. They have experienced the great need that the people have to receive Christ every day through the Eucharist, as well as the other sacraments. But in the same way, they have noticed a particular sadness for the lack of priests and shepherds of the Catholic Church, who can collaborate with this task. For this reason, they invite you to be in constant prayer for the awakening of vocations from men who will consecrate themselves completely to the Kingdom of God.
Our life for your mission
The Catholic University Missions are truly a miracle of God. The way that they are developing and unfolding is truly a clear demonstration of God’s love manifested especially for all the youth who have loyally committed to collaborate in the fulfillment of God’s plan.
We ask you to accompany us in the preparation and development of these Missions with your prayers, and God willing, it will be accomplished through His missionary instruments committed to Him.
