Nité Irala Burgos –one of the first Schoenstatters from Paraguay died

PARAGUAY, Father Antonio Cosp. He died at dawn on July 24th after a long illness. He was one of the first four Paraguayan Schoenstatters, and he appears in the founding photo at the reception of the Youth Shrine.

He was a relevant personality. Upon learning about Schoenstatt at the age of 29, he was already a judge. He had a great loyalty to the Blessed Mother. He always stressed, “Yours will not perish” from the Hymn of the Family. He felt clothed in the mantle of the Blessed Mother. He had a great capacity of gathering all of the pioneers around the Blessed Mother and the ideals.

During the second founding stage, 1974-1981, he participated on the mission team making a great contribution through his knowledge of Paraguayan history especially that of the Jesuit missionaries. His collaboration to reach the ideal: Nation of God, heart of America was essential.

He was a prominent politician, founder of the Christian Democratic Party, and a Supreme Court of Justice judge; he resigned several years ago for health reasons.

The heart was the coat of arms for our first group of men; he was a key figure for his sensitivity, simplicity, and depth. He was always a protective gentleman of the first girls of the Girls’ Youth.

His smile will always accompany us since it expresses his childlike soul and his strength.
