Toward 2014 – in Covenant with the “Basic Course of Education for Parents”

wev/mda. On Saturday, January 12th, the Holy Mass toward 2014 was celebrated for the “Basic Course of Education for Parents” from Germany.  His Holiness Benedict XVI said:  “Educating children can be difficult, but if you work with God it can be a wonderful task.”  The course of basic education for parents is a support for this wonderful task, and a road that helps parents experience the satisfaction of educating their children.

Educating children within the Family

This project is based on Father Joseph Kentenich’s pedagogical concept.  It emerged in the year 2010 as an initiative of a couples group that was trained as instructors for families according to Father Kentenich’s pedagogy.  Its main theme is based on Father Kentenich words:  “We should be authors of life, authors of life in another.”

The Basic Course of Education for Parents is developed in several Schoenstatt Centers in Germany:  Memhölz, Liebfrauenhöhe and Aulendorf.  The participant families and those in charge are from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The Heartfelt desire of the initiators is to educate children within families and that is the reason that this project is in the apostolic field of the Covenant Culture of “Marriage and Family”.

Tanja and Stefan Loriz (Federation of Families) who are in charge of the project, were so happy about the Mass in covenant with the basic course of education, that they published it on the project’s web page: www.grundkurs-erziehung.de, along with all the intentions of the Mass.

For the intentions of 2014

“Every Saturday, we gather to celebrate the Holy Mass for the intentions of 2014,” said Father Raúl Espina, who celebrated the Eucharist.  For spiritual preparation for the development of the covenant culture, for the renewal and re-founding of Schoenstatt in the creative and missionary strength of the Covenant of Love, for every step of the pilgrimage, for each missionary gesture and for every missionary pilgrim…

Eight South American youths were among those present; they arrived to begin a “time in Schoenstatt” (Schönstattzeit). Father Espina greeted them in Spanish, which produced a big smile from them.

Everyone who forms a part of the Basic Course of Education for Parents: Parents, children, and trainers, as well as those families that lack formation and resources to offer their children a good education and to provide a family atmosphere that is adequate for the healthy growth of each member were remembered in the intention of this week.

Just like every week, the petitions, commitments and the gifts of many were placed in the jar:  petitions, expressions of gratitude, and offerings from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, United States Spain, Ecuador Paraguay, Venezuela, Canada, Germany and Portugal, as well as gifts of love for the MTA and contributions for the capital of grace for 2014.

The Holy Mass Toward 2014 on Saturday, January 19th will be in Covenant with the University Missions of Brazil.
