Today I want to inform you about something that was already passed on the people with the main responsibility for the Schoenstatt Movement on our Covenant Day, as well as to Team 2014. It presents a challenge to us all.

Today I want to inform you about something that was already passed on the people with the main responsibility for the Schoenstatt Movement on our Covenant Day, as well as to Team 2014. It presents a challenge to us all.
Fr José María García went to Madrid for clinical examinations in January and February. The doctors diagnosed chronic lymphatic leukaemia. We still have to be given a final diagnosis and find out about the treatment. Until Fr García has recovered fully, the doctors have urged him to give up all long-term tasks that entail bearing a responsibility.
So we have decided together that Fr García will not continue taking responsibility for Team 2014 because of the state of his health. Our first priority has to be his return to health.
It is obvious that it was not easy to come to this decision, and that there will also be some uncertainty in view of 2014. At the same time we may be convinced that a strong foundation has been laid at Conference 2014 and in the triennium of preparation for Jubilee 2014, and that the Blessed Mother will accompany us on our pilgrim way.
We want to act quickly and are thinking of reorganising the team with additional members. The General Presidium will be meeting at the beginning of March in order to confirm the new composition of the team.
