The Father Symbol has arrived in Puerto Rico

At the airportSolmarie Sotelo. “Today, we already feel the excitement of knowing that Father will be among us in just a few hours. As I had promised, I will keep you informed about every step that I witness regarding the visit of such a meaningful symbol. We need this visit very much at this moment of our history”, wrote Oneliss Rolón, of the Girls’ Youth, a few hours after the arrival of the Father Symbol to Puerto Rico on December 4th.

In the chapel of the airportWith great anticipation on the afternoon of December 4th, a large picture of the MTA, candles, flowers, little flags, holy cards of Father Kentenich and the Blessed Mother, and accompanied by guitars, the members of the Schoenstatt Family from Puerto Rico went to the the Luis Muñoz Maria International Airport, in Carolina, Puerto Rico, about 5 Km. southeast of San Juan, the island’s main airport, where flight CO 212 from Houston was about to arrive with the Father Symbol, which is on its worldwide pilgrimage in preparation for the centennial of the Covenant of Love. The five delegates from Puerto Rico, who went to get the Father Symbol at Lamar, Texas, arrived at 4:21 p.m., and they placed the Symbol of the Father Eye in the hands of Sister M. Isabel.

Spiritual preparation for the arrival

A picture with the Father SymbolThere were representatives from the entire Schoenstatt Family at the Our Lady of Providence Airport Chapel. There was a Holy Mass in preparation for the welcome, then exposition, a special blessing by the deacon, and finally there was a time for sharing. Then everyone went to Oasis – Homeshrine in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico, where the Blessed Sacrament was exposed for a vigil until midnight. A large number of Schoenstatters gathered there with songs and prayers. It was truly an example of Cor Unum in Patre at the airport chapel as well as at Oasis.
