In Medellín: Schoenstatt’s Blessed Mother, we love you, stay with us!

COLOMBIA, Marleny Espinosa. Possibly the last commemoration of the Covenant of Love centenary was held at Monasterio de La Visitación [Monastery of the Visitation] in Medellín, El Poblado area on February 9, 2015. A Holy Mass was celebrated with thirty-three families and their representatives who were invited in memory of the thirty-three years Jesus spent living on earth. Thirty-three small altarpieces bearing an image of the Blessed Mother on one side and a picture of Father Kentenich on the other side were presented to those attending. It was firmly hoped that by placing all their spiritual and material needs in this “Source of graces,” they could honor the Blessed Mother in their homes and allow her to take them to her beloved Son, so his will could be done in these homes forever.

During the Eucharist, the priest blessed the small altarpieces (roughly the size of a person’s hand). They wanted to tell her, “We love you, Mother, we love you! We need you, we do not deserve you, but we do need you; ‘Mother, nothing without You, nothing without us.’ ” We wanted to honor our Mother, express our gratitude for her being at our side since we met her, and then we renewed the covenant that Father Kentenich sealed with her one hundred years ago.

We asked everyone to accompany us with their prayers, so that this encounter would produce true fruits of holiness in these homes and many others in their given time. We, along with the Blessed Mother, planted thirty-three little seeds in these hearts and in these families… Everything and all for the Glory of God…may the Lord through his Mother shelter us and bless all of us; and also you, beloved brothers/sisters of the Schoenstatt Movement. May these blessings be extended throughout the world and reach your homes too. Amen!
