In Marineo a picture of flowers, in honor of Our Lady of Schoenstatt

ITALY, Calogero Tuzzolino. Once again his year was held in Marineo, on the feast of Corpus Christi, one of the most important and solemn feasts of the community, because for eight days, Jesus in the Eucharist is carried in procession through the streets of the town, thus giving the opportunity to all, including the sick, to receive His blessing.

The most solemn day is Sunday; particularly impressive is the procession in which all the fraternities in the town, and the children who received their First Holy Communion participate, and hundreds of faithful.

For twenty years now, the feast of Corpus Christi has been enriched by artistic floral decorations, spectacular designs made with flower petals, by different groups, fraternities, movements and Marineo’s associations. It is not just a show of colors and scents for the thousands of visitors, but also a tribute to Jesus in the Eucharist.

A picture dedicated to the Virgin of Schoenstatt

The floral display was made on the night between June 21st and 22nd, Pastor Don Leoluca Pasqua started with a prayer, and from 21.30 until late, the various groups worked to create a moment of fraternal combination: it is nice to see hundreds of people collaborating with each other, united in one purpose.

“The floral display, beyond the technical and artistic aspects, becomes a particular moment wherein a joyful spirituality is expressed; the spirit being of the “Church on a journey that grows and renews itself thanks to the Eucharist.” (Don Leoluca Pasqua)

On the occasion of the Jubilee to mark the centenary of the Schoenstatt Movement and for the first time ever, coordinators, Marta and Giuseppe Puccio, led the missionaries of the Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign in Marineo, in creating a frame dedicated to the Virgin of Schoenstatt. It was not easy, but armed with lots of determination and good will; the two missionaries have realized a beautiful work.
