“Mother, send us from shrine to shrine…”

BRAZIL, Silvina Dantas Viana Medeiros and Rui Medeiros. A group of Schoenstatt members in Northeastern Brazil guided by two priests (Fr. Fábio – Natal/Rio Grande do Norte, Fr. Nivaldo – Estância/Sud Este), Sr. Patrícia – Recife-Olinda/Pernambuco, eight couples from the Family League in Natal, one couple from the Family Leage in Recife-Olinda/Pernambuco, and members of the Pilgrim Mother Campaign in Natal and Mossoró/Rio Grande do Norte, Estância/Sud Este and Salvador/Bahia, went on pilgrimage on March 14-19, 2014 to the four Schoenstatt Shrine in Rio Grande do Sul.

Schoenstatt members from Brazil’s Northeast went on pilgrimage to the four shrines in Rio Grande do Sul

The pilgrimage began with a visit to Mater Ecclesiae shrine in Porto Alegre, followed by the Immaculate Dilexit Ecclesium Shrine/Santa Cruz do Sul, Tabor Shrine/Santa Maria – with all of the wealth and spiritual heritage that Fr. Kentenich left us – and Puer et Pater Shrine in Itaára.

Enriched by the experience of these days, the group also went to the Fourth Colony, where there are several oratories belonging to the MTA from Schoenstatt, which our father and founder visited. It was a great joy to visit the places where João Luiz Pozzobon (founder of the Pilgrim Mother Campaign) lived a part of his life.

Santa Maria

Still in Santa Maria, under the guidance of Fr. Argemiro Ferrcioli (postulator for the Cause for the Beatification of João Pozzobon), the pilgrims visited the Deacon João Luiz Pozzobon Museum House and Our Lady of Grace Chapel, where João Pozzobon is buried.

During the pilgrimage and its experiences, there were talks to enrich each pilgrim with fidelity to Schoenstatt’s spirituality as members of the Family League and the Pilgrim Mother Campaign.

One of the gifts from the Northeast for Jubilee 2014

These were days of infinite graces and will always be remembered in the minds and hearts of all who participated in such a blessed pilgrimage.

The group would like to give a heartfelt thanks to God, our Thrice Admirable Mother, Queen and Victress of Schoenstatt, who with great love and dedication points us towards Schoenstatt.

Mother, accept this pilgrimage as one of the gifts from the Northeast for Jubilee 2014.
