Original Pilgrim Mother Resumes her Pilgrimage to 2014

BRAZIL, Sr. M. Nilza. João Luiz Pozzobon’s Original Pilgrim Mother is unshakeable in her mission. She has been restored, following an accident during her pilgrimage through Brazil, and now resumes her Tabor Pilgrimage, calling her children to join in the Covenant of Love jubilee celebrations.

It was not easy for the National Presidium to decide how to continue this torrent of graces that have flowed through this country since 18 April. The Original Pilgrim Mother frame was restored but has become even more fragile. Despite this, she cannot stop her mission. Therefore, on 18 November, she was sent out again from the Tabor Shrine: the original picture, scarred by the accident, continues on her journey in a frame prepared especially so that she can take the graces from the source to the whole country.

The new itinerary includes a visit to all the shrines in the South, South East and Paraná regions where the Great Missionary will welcome the dioceses that wish to meet her.

Always united to Pozzobon

For many people, it was a very emotional experience to meet her and contemplate her image, scarred by the accident. Frater Odair José Defina Boscolo from São Paulo describes: “To contemplate this image is to contemplate the source because everything started with her. It is a meditation on everything João Luiz Pozzobon did and lived…Being with her, I felt that I was in communion with João Luiz Pozzobon. It is a huge joy…I will never forget this. This meeting will touch me forever.”

The lessons of her scars

Marcos and Cassiane Wiesemann from Niterói-Rio de Janeiro met with the Original Pilgrim Mother before and after the accident. They describe their experiences: “Seeing the Original Pilgrim Mother, the Mother of God, taught me something important: I saw the wooden frame and the restored inscriptions but the picture of the Blessed Mother was marred – the scars of her accident…Even so, she went back on the road…She has returned to her children…Once again, as when she visited Elizabeth, she did not worry about herself, but with our need for her presence!

Yesterday I learnt with the Blessed Mother that, on the journey of life, we always carry scars: our difficult experiences, our fears, disillusions, sadness over an illness or the loss of a loved one, the marks we suffer during difficult times…but we must continue to head towards the goal that our loving Father draws us, towards the full fulfillment of our Personal Ideal.”

She is the Great Missionary!

This is proof that her continued pilgrimage strikes even deeper into her children’s hearts. On 25 November, when she was sent to the Tabor of Victorious Joy Shrine in Araraquara-São Paulo, where she interrupted her pilgrimage, Sr. Liliane Dias and representatives of Brazil’s six states placed her in the hands of the Araraquara committee with the exclamation: “She is the Great Missionary!” Nearly 3,000 people replied with enthusiasm and conviction: “She will work miracles!” Now more than ever, this invocation spurs us to prepare for the great jubilee in 2014. This was the sentiment of those who sent her out and those who received her: “I was so glad that she came back! I knew for certain that she would not leave us!” exclaimed a confident pilgrim.
