ENAU 2012 – Young Mexican university students prepare their 2nd National Conference

MEXICO, José Dimas Salinas. In 1912, Father Kentenich along with some youths, were trained by Mary’s hand to be firm, free and priestly personalities. This new wave of self-educated leaders found an opportunity to cross borders during World War II. At the present time in Mexico, society needs positive leaders, who can generate an counter current that can make a radical change to the present situation.

The youths from Mexico will demonstrate that those leaders still exist, in this way; they can reach a better personal future for themselves and for the country. Therefore, this year the Second National Conference of University Students of Mexico will take place on November 16th-19th, in Monterrey, Mexico.

2012, Monterrey, Mexico

The first National Conference of this kind was carried out, at the time, youths between the ages of eighteen to twenty- three conquered the IDENTITY of the Mexican University Schoenstatter: From the Shrine, “The Mexican University Schoenstatter wants to be a PASSIONATE instrument of Mary, motivated by great love for Her, which characterizes Mexico.” (…)

Two years later, another similar conference has been organized once again, with approximately 110 participants. Youths, from Guadalajara, Querétaro, Torreón, Monterrey, and San Luis Potosí, will meet at Bosque Azul (Blue Forest), in the state of San Luis Potosí.

Training, sports, and most importantly, spiritual and religious activities will be carried out. The main objective of this conference is to discover the IDEAL. This will be a transcendental, everlasting, and definite step for future generations of university students. The history of the Boys’ Youth of this country will be marked, thus it will accomplish the composition and complete formation of what a Mexican University Schoenstatter really is.

During the Conference, the identity conquered in the first ENAU will be reinforced; nationally renowned speakers will be present talks. There will be work tables, workshops about the Schoenstatt Movement, sports tournaments, Masses, activities for reflection, and conclusions. Day by day they will analyze and discover the IDEAL, which will be defined at the end of the Conference.

On Sunday the 18th, there will be a Covenant Mass, where they will also celebrate the renewal of the covenant of love, and the youths who feel they are ready for this commitment will seal their covenants.

The Conference will end on November 19th at 12:00 p.m. Returning home, the youths from Mexico will have a new, concrete task that God will have imparted. Having worked toward a better personal and national future, they will be happy and content after such a great experience.
