A Loving Attachment to the Shrine

PERU, Queca Espinoza. During the recent Schoenstatt Family retreat in Lima, Fr. José Luis Correa recalled that the International Schoenstatt Family is focusing on the year of the Shrine current and that the attachment to the Shrine -essential to Schoenstatt, cannot be only physical; it must be cultivated with spiritual visits. It must be a loving attachment, a wanting to be there.

 

 

He explained that when we say, “Nothing without You, nothing without us,” we ask the Blessed Mother something, she also offers something and makes every effort to obtain the object of our desire.

Sr. M. Consuelo, responsible for the Girls’ Youth, spoke about Sr. M. Petra’s visit and highlighted the most important parts of the visit and her attachment to our father and founder. She recalled some of the anecdotes, among them when Fr. Kentenich told her: “What did the Blessed Mother tell you?” In astonishment, Sr. Petra answered: “But Father, the Blessed Mother doesn’t speak,” only to later realize that in the silence of the Shrine, she does indeed speak to the heart.

Mónica Paz enthusiastically announced that the project “Mary Ayuda – Peru” has already been registered, and that it will soon begin its work.

They also introduced the new leaders of the various Branches and invited them to participate in the National Retreat from October 12 to 14.
