Inspired by an idea from Chile: a new calendar on schoenstatt.org

org. It happened on August 2011; an article by Agathe Hug, in the Spanish version (8-21) about the commemoration of the anniversary of Father Franz Renisch’s death in Schoenstatt, (with a very good homily and with little participation caused a pioneer Chilean Schoenstatter, Juan Enrique Coeymans, to reflect: “Couldn’t schoenstatt.org publish the anniversary dates of the deceased in our family, who are in the process of beatification?” Since schoenstatt.org grows from life, and it is a process of life, like everything in Schoenstatt, this proposal emerged quietly at first. It was tried quietly in small circles, it was incorporated in schoenstatt.org enriched with experiences, and now it appears publicly as “the Calendar of anniversaries and events.”

Thank you, Juan Enrique Coeymans, for the suggestion! Thank you to everyone who collaborated to carry this out, above all to Fabrizio Usai, from Rome who took charge of the programming.

The current-perpetual Schoenstatt calendar contains the following: the anniversaries that are repeated annually, the anniversaries of death and other anniversaries – principally the 18th of every month – and it indicates the Masses “toward 2014, in covenant with…” and its respective countries, which will be remembered, and for those for whom we pray every Saturday in the Original Shrine.

Current events of international importance are also published here (this does not have to do with numbers or personalities!). events which we simply want to know about, because perhaps we want to accompany them with prayer and contributions to the capital of grace, or perhaps because we like to be attend, for example, the blessing of the first new Shrine of the year 2012 (in Chile in March), or in the erection of the first statute of Father Kentenich outside of Schoenstatt in Germany, in the month of May.

Like everything in schoenstatt.org, this calendar depends on the collaboration of everyone, and it also grows through the contributions of everyone. If you want to report an anniversary or event, simply send an email to: info@schoenstatt.org.

The calendar can be accessed directly on the homepage (in the “Services” box) or in the category of news “Upcoming Events”.
