“Build family shrines of life and love”

USA, Rosario and Salvador Santos. Four couples from the Washington metropolitan area (Washington, DC – Maryland and Virginia), sealed their Covenant of Love on October 30, 2011. They got to know Schoenstatt at Our Lady of Lourdes parish, in Maryland, where they sent their children for catechesis.

After walking together through many months of preparation and Capital of Grace abundance, they overcame all the obstacles on the way. The Mother Thrice Admirable showed them, once again, that she is Victress and Queen of Schoenstatt. The members are from Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico, and Peru.

The second group

The ceremony was beautiful, the lighting of the candles, the blessing of the medals, the reading of the rite, and finally the renewal of the vows. Father Hector Vega officiated at the ceremony. It was something very special for all, because it was Father Hector’s last celebration in the Shrine of Light as advisor of the Schoenstatt Movement in New York. Afterwards everyone participated in a farewell banquet is his honor.

The atmosphere in the Shrine of Light was beautiful; one could feel the presence of the Blessed Mother. This is the second couples’ group that sealed their Covenant of Love in the Shrine of Light from the area of Washington, DC.  The couples were very happy to have worked very hard and diligently to finish their preparation in order to seal their Covenant of Love that day in New York. We felt so welcomed in the Shrine of Light. It is the closest one to Washington, DC. The Sisters are always welcoming in a very special way. Thank you Blessed Mother, thank you Father Kentenich, for this great gift. October 30, 2011, will always be remembered as a very special day for them.
