BRAZIL, Lucas Valério. On Sunday, August 28th, the Schoenstatt Pioneers and Allies carried out the walk to the Shrine of Atibaia. The point of departure was the Church of Saint John the Baptist (Matriz). Before starting the walk, they prayed and gave the Pioneer shout. During the walk, they took turns carrying the flag. They arrived at 9:40 a.m.
As is customary when they arrived at the Shrine, they staked the flag as they sang the Pioneer Hymn. They played games with the pioneers such as tag and traditional soccer, among others. The Pioneers then went to the Shrine where they could see all of its elements. Next they burned the Capital of Grace that each Pioneer brought. Finally, they prayed in the Shrine and departed for the return trip to the church.
