USA, Carlos Cantu. The feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary had a significant meaning for the Schoenstatt Family in the Diocese of Brownsville, Texas, this past August 15th. The beautiful image of Our Mother Thrice Admirable, Queen and Victress of Schoenstatt was enthroned in St. Joseph’s Church in Brownsville, Texas.
After the celebration of the Holy Eucharist in honor of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother, the pastor, Father Oscar Siordia, carried the beautiful image of our MTA to the place of her enthronement. Fr. Siordia then invited everyone to pray along with him the prayer of enthronement. Blessed Mother was now officially welcomed and situated in a special place where all can come to Her with their special needs.
Special graces
After the enthronement, everyone then proceeded to the parish hall for a program and refreshments. Sr. M. Corelia Bechold addressed the assembly and spoke on the special graces our Blessed Mother brings to her children. Several mothers from the Mothers’ Branch then presented a very informative power point which also included the world-wide Schoenstatt Rosary Campaign which was initiated by Joao Pozzobon in 1950.
Fellowship and refreshments followed. Impressive was the number of persons who attended representing numerous parishes of the Brownsville Diocese.
