An interview with Sister M. Petra

PERU, Queca Espinoza. August 25th Sister Petra’s schedule began early in the Shrine with participation in the Eucharist celebrated by Father José Antonio Jiménez. Next Father Rafael Reátegui invited her to a meeting with the diocesan priests. That night, there was an interview on television; I would like to tell you about this experience.

I had agreed to meet Carmen Scamarone at the studio to set up some Schoenstatt items. We were given a very friendly and courteous welcome, and we were asked when the other people from the Movement would arrive. We explained that the interview was with Sister Petra. They replied that it would be good to have other people from the Movement as well; they asked us to call and see if someone else could come. When I tried to call, I realized the battery of my cell phone was low! I called two people using Sister Consuelo’s cell phone, but they had other commitments. At that moment, Carmen called to say she had to go to the airport, she had confused the date, so she would just be leaving the items we had agreed on, and then she had to leave. When I finished speaking, I was told: “Well then we will interview the two sisters and you.” I went into shock; they took me to the make-up room. After a while and remembering the things I have learned I said: “Beloved Blessed Mother, I am here for you, if you want me to participate in the interview, speak through me.” When I was resigned to do it Chivi and Daniel, a couple, who were willing to cooperate, arrived. I was very glad to see them!

The interview with Sister Petra and Sister Consuelo took so long that there was not much time left. Chivi and Daniel only had three minutes, which they used in an excellent manner. Another problem in the middle of the interview, they displayed a picture of Sister Petra, but with the wrong name below. Things like this often happen during a live interview! But the atmosphere was very beautiful, and the people interviewed were outstanding. The Blessed Mother wants to be present in every detail of our lives, and she changes agendas or awaits our “Yes,” then she leaves us in peace, without speaking…

Tomorrow is another day and each day has its struggles. I will tell you about it later.
