Annual Conference of the Institute of Diocesan Priests in South America

parte de la comunidad del cono surPERU, Fr. Alan Sosa Tello. The Schoenstatt Institute of Diocesan Priests from the “Cono Sur” (Southern part of Latin America) held their Annual Conference during the week of January 9th at “Magdalena del Mar”, Lima Peru.

 

 

 

 

The priests and seminarians arrived from Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Peru, a German seminarian, who is currently in Chile, allso participated.

The days were intense with community life and Working on god’s guidance in each one`s life; during these days, the participants deepened their understanding of the world of attachments, the means to create and enhance them, and practical applications.

Meeting with the Family from Lima

The Conference began in the Shrine of Lima with the Contractual Eucharist, where the Sacerdo Fililiter Course renewed the contract with the community for two years. This course met the week before the Conference to prepare themselves for this very important step for the entire community.

During the Conference, they met with the Family from Lima, where they introduced the Institute to the diocesan priests who did not know of its existence. They visited the tombs of the Peruvian saints: Saint Rose of Lima, Saint Martin of Porres, Saint Toribio of Mogrovejo, Saint Juan Macias, and Saint Francisco Solano.

Coordinator for the Pro Region of the Southern Cone

Conclusion de la  Misa con la Familia de LimaIt was also a great joy for the Southern Cone that the General Council allowed them to have a coordinator for the Pro Region of the Southern Cone; this is a position that Father Darío Gatti from Rosario, Argentina will hold for one year.

The date was set for next year’s Conference; it will be held during the week of January 12, 2012 at “La Serena”, Chile. They ask the entire International Family to pray, so that by the hand of the Blessed Mother, the Pro Region of the Southern Cone will find their ideal and grow in vocations.
