On Saturday, October 17th, the eve of the official opening of the Triennium in preparation for the centennial of the founding of Schoenstatt, the Miami Schoenstatt Family began its celebration by installing the cornerstone in the future Shrine, “Walking towards the Merciful Father”, as part of Father Kentenich’s gift for the 100th Anniversary of his priestly ordination.

Sister Petra spoke about the triennium and the content of each of these years. She explained that it is the beginning of the pilgrimage towards the Jubilee of 2014 in which the entire Schoenstatt Family will unite in gratitude for the one hundred years of fruitfulness and loyalty in the Covenant of Love.

An historic moment

Camino rumbo al SantuarioHere is a paragraph of the document: “With the installation of the cornerstone and the construction of this Shrine, a long road that included much patience and many trials comes to an end. But at the same time it is a beginning that unites us as a Family of the United States with a common mission, convinced that Father’s exile obeyed a divine purpose that demanded many sacrifices and contributions to the Capital of Grace, at the same time it should be a symbol of the Father’s mercy and the loyalty of his children”

On Monday, the 18th, the Miami Family joined the chain of celebrations throughout the world. The Eucharist was celebrated, there was time for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and they renewed the Covenant of Love, thanking the Blessed Mother for convoking them to be a part of this wonderful Schoenstatt.
