A gift for the Blessed Mother for her month: more than 15,000 Hail Marys were prayed at the Saint Thomas Park Wayside Shrine

One Thousand Hail Marys were prayed at the Saint Thomas Park Wayside Shrine in the San Borja District of Lima on a cold afternoon, but one also filled with family warmth on the eve of Mother’s Day in Peru (May 8th).

This Campaign was organized by the Couples’ Branch, which gathered the entire Schoenstatt Family of Lima, of La Molina, Callao, and other districts to unite around this important Wayside Shrine. They met with the goal of promoting unity among the different branches of the Movement, and by inviting the Mother Thrice Admirable to establish herself in this park; She could then shower her blessings on all the neighbors and members of the Movement, who constantly gather to pray the Rosary at this holy place.

More than 15,000 Hail Marys were offered at the Schoenstatt Shrine on the following day after the Sunday Mass; minute-to-minute, hour after hour, the different groups prayed. They offered their weariness and determination to do it; constantly refreshed by new voices that arrived to accompany them and with great love, they repeated again and again the greeting of the Archangel Gabriel and her cousin Elizabeth: “Hail Mary…”

Hail Mary, our Mother and of all humanity

En la ermitaYes, “Hail Mary, our Mother and of all humanity. Hail Mary, Queen and Lady of all creation. Hail Mary, Temple and Tabernacle of the Most Holy Trinity, Hail Mary, bearer of the Holy Spirit”.

When they greeted Mary, they also entrusted all the mothers of Peru and of the world, because they gave their children the blessing of life, just like Most Holy Mary who brought salvation to the world in Jesus.

Thank you to everyone who participated and to everyone who accompanied them through their prayers from wherever they were. Thanks to those who organized this event with the certainty that the life planted at the Wayside Shrine will serve as a source and foundation to reach the unity and perseverance that the Family needs.
