How we experienced our Father

On February 10, 2010 – 35 years after the opening of Father Kentenich’s process of canonization – , Marge and Mike Fenelon will share, in Schoenstatt, their childhood experiences with Fr. Kentenich. Their testimony – given in English and translated into German – will be transmitted via Internet Livestream. During the time he spent in Milwaukee, Father Kentenich could give a lot of time to the families. The “Monday Night Talks” are well-known: Father Kentenich talked on the impact of Schoenstatt’s spirituality for practical family life.

 

 


Pater Kentenich mit Mike Fenelon Those couples who regularly visited these talks, later were called pioneer couples. Father Kentenich also accompanied many families in their spiritual journey, and visited them at home. Still today these families reflect his fatherly presence.

Mary and Richard Fenelos, parents of 12 children, belonged to this group. The photo with their son Mike, walking hand in hand with Father Kentenich, is know all over the world. Mike later married Marge Yank, whose parentes also belonged to the pioneer couples. Now, both are members of the Institute of Families and parents of two adult children.

Mike and Marge Fenelon will participate in a Congress of the Schoenstatt Institute of Families in Schoenstatt, starting mid February.
