More than 140 youths go out on mission in Santa Rita and Tavapy

PARAGUAY, Lala Rivarola. The day has come – today the Catholic missions of Ciudad del Este will start.  This is already the fourth year that youths from Ciudad del Este will go on mission.  They will be accompanied by Father Pedro Kühlcke, adviser of the Schoenstatt Girls’ Youth. From August 13-17, they will go to two towns, “Santa Rita” and “Tavapy”, for the first time.

It is an apostolate organized by the Schoenstatt youth and this helps the growth of the branches, the life and the daily movement of pilgrims at the homeland –this is what they call their shrine in Ciudad del Este-.  “Everyone is very happy about the graces that our great Ally bestows because She never abandons us and she is always guiding us”, one of the leaders commented.

“When we dreamed about founding missions, we sought a field of action for the youth, we sought a commitment with the Church that would really grow, and every year we struggled to reach this goal”, she added.

To attract Schoenstatt Youths

The idea was simple as well as brilliant:  The response to the great concern to attract youths to Schoenstatt was:  Give them something to do.  Give them missions.  “Three years ago we began to dream about putting this madness to develop a new apostolate for youths into action, and in this way to attract them to Schoenstatt and to enkindle other Catholics.  Sincerely, we are growing superbly!! This year we will be approximately 140 youths…”

They ask the international Schoenstatt family to accompany them with their prayers during these days and to remember them.

And what a missionary witness, of love of Church and a covenant of love in solidarity it would be to hear in a Mass in some shrine in Portugal or Burundi, in Germany or Brazil to pray for the missions of these 140 youths in Santa Rita and Tavpy…
