In Covenant

The ‘Towards 2014’ Mass was celebrated on May 25th, after receiving the news of the gift of the Original Shrine, in Covenant with the Joseph Kentenich Educational Centre in Paraguay.  What an honor for them!  The Schoenstatt Fathers who were in Schoenstatt for their tertianship, a course from Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic and India, were responsible for the  liturgy and hymns and a group from the Women’s Apostolic League which was meeting for a few days in Schoesntatt also took part.

Despite the morning cold, many people arrived at the Shrine to celebrate the Eucharist.  Everywhere there was an atmosphere of festivity, surprise, joy and gratitude for the gift of the Shrine.

Now we go on a thanksgiving pilgrimage

Among the hundreds of “gifts” that are placed in the jar, that arrive from more than twenty countries each week, there were also many emails with words of thanks for the gift of the Original Shrine. The first to arrive was from the 4th course of the Mothers’ Union in Argentina, minutes after the news was published.  Shortly afterwards, Sr. Ramírez from Puerto Esperanza – a town in the Misiones Province in Argentina, where the whole Schoenstatt Family have taken as their motto “I go on pilgrimage in covenant solidarity with our Original Shrine,” wrote: “Dear Mother.  Thank you.  Thank you for the joy of this glorious day: The Original Shrine is ours.  We have recently gone on pilgrimage in covenant solidarity…Mother we continue to go on pilgrimage in thanksgiving…and meanwhile in my heart burns the desire, the dream of standing in this holy place…Amen.”

Olga P. from the same city wrote: “What joy, thank you Jesus, thank you Mother, thank you St. Vincent Pallotti! Now we are on a thanksgiving pilgrimage…we are there spiritually!  Mother, thank you for making me so happy in working for you!”

With great joy, many people placed even more messages on the altar, praying for the Pallottine Fathers and all their needs…
